On Friday, Ubisoft outlined a new roadmap for The Division 2 detailing plans for the remainder of the year. The official blog post also released stats for the online shooter RPG, including the impressive milestone of surpassing 40 million unique players since its initial launch in 2019.
While details are scarce, an “entirely new” mode for the game is currently in development. Improvements to agent progression specifically when it comes to build variety and viability is something the team plans to investigate. The new update will take several months to complete and is set for release in late 2021 at the earliest. Producer Adrian Trasca and associate creative director Yannick Banchereau from Ubisoft Massive will take the lead on the upcoming content updates with additional support from Ubisoft Bucharest.
The Division 2 recently started putting out three month "seasons" that feature new Manhunt missions along with different Global Events and Leagues. Instead of Season 5 arriving sometime in March, a re-run of previous seasons will instead begin with the reintroduction of Season 1. Previous rewards and collectibles will be up for grabs once again, but support for new Apparel Events will continue.
