Thinfilm Technology - Printed Rewritable Memory
Tuesday, 20 October 2009 15:18
The lesson learned from the silicon industry is that in order to reach the mass market, with maintained cost advantage, programmability and modularity is needed. This means that in order for printed logic to reach mass market volumes in the billions it needs to be programmable. In other words, the printed logic must be integrated with memory. The programmable logic module could then be programmed to be used for controlling a display, handling in and output from a sensor, playing a little tune etc. Thinfilm is actively cooperating with partners such as PolyIC and Soligie to achieve programmable logic blocks.
